How it works

Study online, one short lesson at a time

From sign-up to your Statement of Results, everything happens on the Stratum campus — with real facilitators, assessors and moderators behind it.

  1. Step 1

    Choose your programme

Browse programmes from accredited training providers. Each page shows the price, duration, NQF level and credits, and the full outline.

    • Accredited qualifications (SETA and QCTO)
    • Short courses and workshops
    • Prices in rands, up front
  2. Step 2

    Register and pay online

Create your login, accept the learner terms, upload a copy of your ID and pay securely with PayFast.

    • Pay in full, or in two instalments where the programme allows it
    • Promo codes and vouchers applied at checkout
    • Under 18? A parent or guardian gives consent
  3. Step 3

    Get your personal schedule

As soon as you’re enrolled, we email your welcome pack with a schedule worked out from your start date: what to study each week and when each piece of evidence is due.

    • Module by module, at a steady pace
    • Due dates for your Portfolio of Evidence
    • Reminders if you fall behind
  4. Step 4

    Learn in 15–20 minute lessons

Each lesson is a short, focused take-out: a written guide, often with video or audio, and a few quick questions before and after so you can see what you’ve learnt.

    • Works on a phone or a computer
    • Resources and links for each module
    • Pick up where you left off
  5. Step 5

    Show what you can do

Take online assessments and, on accredited programmes, submit your Portfolio of Evidence. Registered assessors mark it and moderators check it.

    • Feedback from your assessor on every submission
    • Workplace placements, mentors and logbooks where required
    • A fair appeals process
  6. Step 6

    Get your results

Accredited learners receive a Statement of Results for each unit and a final one; QCTO learners are guided through EISA readiness and registration. Short courses end with a certificate of completion.

    • Statements of Results as PDFs
    • QCTO milestones tracked for you
    • Certificates on completion
Questions

Studying with us

Do I have to attend classes?

No. Everything is online. You study in short lessons of 15–20 minutes, following a personal schedule worked out from your start date, whenever suits you.

What do I need to study?

A smartphone, tablet or computer with internet access, and an email address. To register you will also upload a copy of your ID.

What if I fall behind?

Your schedule shows what is due each week, and we send reminders if you have not been active. If life gets in the way, most providers let you defer once, within a set period after starting — a fee may apply. Your provider’s learner terms have the details.

I am under 18. Can I register?

Yes. When you register, a parent or guardian gives their consent and contact details.

Can I pay in instalments?

Many programmes can be paid in two instalments: half when you register and the rest by a due date set by the provider. We email you a payment link and reminders before it is due.

How do I pay?

Online through PayFast, South Africa’s secure payment gateway, which accepts cards, instant EFT and other methods. Some providers also accept a direct EFT, which they confirm for you.

What happens if I miss a payment?

Your access is paused after a short grace period, and switches back on automatically as soon as the payment comes through. Your progress is kept.

Can I get a refund?

Each provider has a refund window, set out in its learner terms, which you accept when you register. Contact your provider within that window to ask for a refund.
